10 days in Croatia could be just right
14 December 2009A holiday in a Croatian villa or waterfront apartment could be ideally timed at ten days, after new research showed demand for week-and-a-half breaks is rising.
Holidays of such length have grown in popularity by 64 per cent since the start of the summer, according to figures released by Thomas Cook and Thomson.
It comes as Britons try to find a balance between economising in the harsh financial period and trying to keep hold of substantial holidays.
Sally Kirby, travel specialist at Black Tomato, said: "Lots of our clients take ten-day trips as it usually only means five or six days out of the office."
Ten days could be the perfect period in which to discover Croatia - with time divided up between the country's picturesque, unspoilt Dalmatian coast and its rural mountainous retreats.
Thomas Cook and Thomson predicted that the biggest concern for holidaymakers in 2010 would be getting value for money - something that could be easily achieved in Croatia thanks to a favourable exchange rate.
