According to the Mirror, places to stay in the nation that borders the picturesque Adriatic Sea are typically full of style and good value, making them perfect for a relaxing vacation.

For the best travel experience, heading to Croatia's "staggering coastline" is perhaps the wisest move, as "with the clear waters of the Adriatic and Mediterranean-style food, it's a lovely late-summer getaway", the publication states.

And flights to Croatia should not be a problem, with the news source noting airlines such as easyJet, Thomson and Ryanair all now offer services from the UK.

While on holiday in Croatia, one of the highlights for many visitors is visiting the numerous islands that are located off the Dalmatian coast, most of which are linked by fast and efficient ferry lines.

Among the largest and most popular are Korcula, Hvar and Brac, all of which can be accessed from resorts such as Dubrovnik and Split.
