Aeroflot offers new flights to Croatia from Russia

Holidaymakers planning a European tour in 2011 may find it useful to note there are now flights to Croatia linking the country with Russia.

Russian carrier Aeroflot has announced it is opening a route between the capital city Moscow and Dubrovnik in the south of the Balkan nation, reports the Croatian Times.

Indeed, popularity is expected to be high enough to justify a daily service from May 27th to October 29th.

While many Russians are sure to use the operation to travel to Dubrovnik for a summer holiday and sun themselves in the ancient city, people travelling to Croatia from western Europe could take advantage of the flights and carry on to Moscow after their break by the Dalmatian coast.

The newspaper notes it is the first time the two cities have been connected with direct flights.

Britons hoping to holiday in Dubrovnik this summer can use airlines such as easyJet, British Airways and Croatia Airlines to reach their destination.
