Airline set to open new route for travellers to Dubrovnik

Flights to Croatia may become a key part of the continued success of a low-cost airline.

Budget carrier bmibaby celebrates its eighth anniversary of flying passengers from its UK bases to Europe tomorrow (March 20th).

A new route to Dubrovnik from East Midlands Airport was announced earlier this year as part of a range of summer offers that may help the company to maintain its current rate of expansion.

Travellers to Dubrovnik will be able to reach the ancient walled city on the Adriatic coast with bmibaby from May 30th, when the route opens.

bmibaby now also offers services from airports in Manchester, Birmingham and Cardiff.

Crawford Rix, managing director at bmibaby, says: "We offer our passengers low fares with a high quality service and an excellent record for on-time performance. Plus we have many additional passenger benefits including allocated seating, free online check-in."

East Midlands Airport offers flights to more than 100 destinations and deals with five million travellers each year.
