Airlines encouraged to implement 24 hour rule with bookings

More airlines should introduce the 24 hour rule regarding mistakes made with online ticket booking.

That is according to the Air Transport Users Council (AUC), which has suggested that policies regarding the issue should be changed.

Changing the rule would mean that a person had 24 hours to amend changes with their tickets when booked online.

The news could potentially be useful for people flying to Croatia who are looking to make sure that they do not make mistakes when booking their flights.

Rochelle Turner from Which? Holiday, said: "We would want more airlines to introduce the 24 hour period and have it as part of their consumer contract.

"There should a commitment or some sort of guarantee to people rather than it being arbitrary or depending on which airline you are going with."

According to the AUC, many complaints are made by passengers who have been left out of pocket as a result of an online glitch or a mistake.

Earlier this month, two airlines announced they would be increasing their flights to Dubrovnik in Croatia from next summer, showing the popularity of the city.
