Avoid the masses by holidaying in Croatia now
15 April 2011Now may be the perfect time to take a Croatia holiday, with the country warm enough to offer a sun break, but still out of season so a calm and unhurried break is assured.
The country has become one of Europe's favourite vacation destinations in recent years and welcomes tens of thousands of visitors to many of its premier spots each summer.
But heading to central Europe in spring is a better idea – an opinion backed up by Jane Foster, writing recently for the Daily Telegraph.
She suggested the island of Hvar is one destination well worth a visit, as it is the "trendiest" location in Dalmatia, with the exception of Dubrovnik.
"Spring should see the weather pleasantly sunny, the sea warm enough for a swim, and the main attractions and watersports up and running," she stated.
Meri Matesic, director at the Croatian National Tourist Office, recently identified Hvar as an island that offers plenty to do and see.
