Baby fever hits Croatian football team

As the Croatian football team prepares for the upcoming European Championships, four of the players are awaiting new additions to their families.

Four of the eastern European team's players are expecting children following the competition in Austria this summer.

Igor Budan, one of the team's strikers, is first in line to receive his bundle of joy, with his wife Djina expecting to give birth in July.

Baby fever has also hit Mladen Petric, who said he "can't wait to become a daddy" when his wife gives birth in September.

The child will be the couple's first and they have already predicted the sex of the baby: "Somehow we always spoke of her and discussed girls names, so maybe we steered the fate."

Robert Kovac and Ivica Olic are also expecting, but not with their first children, with Olic already having two children.

One benefit for the soon-to-be fathers is that the competition is not held far from their home, when they play Portugal, Switzerland and Turkey in the first round.
