Beautiful vegetable gardens in Dalmatia
04 September 2009The coast of Dalmatia has been praised by Kate O'Donnell who wrote in the Daily Telegraph that she was "taken" by the country's landscapes and gardens.
On her first visit to the region, the writer was amazed by the stunning way in which Croatian gardeners had turned the functionality of their vegetable patches into aesthetically pleasing outdoor areas.
She wrote: "Not only were these gardens productive, they actually looked very beautiful."
However, it was not only the horticultural offerings of the beautiful Dalmatian coast that Ms O'Donnell found pleasant, it was also the "sublime, untouched landscape".
Croatia has enjoyed a record number of visitors to some of its more popular areas this year and has become one of the trendiest holiday destinations for celebrities.
It was recently announced that the Dalmatian city of Split in Croatia is to play host to the opening rounds of the P1 Powerboat World Championships.
