Belgrade flights to Croatia 'popular'

Jat Airways's route from Belgrade to Pula is the carrier's most profitable, according to the Index News website.

Reporting the data, the Croatian Times indicated that the service was restarted in 2008 after a number of years of no flights between the two destinations.

It has been predicted that there will be 9,000 Serbians opting for a Croatia travel experience this holiday season - three times more people that took the route last year.

Talks began recently to try and establish a Jat Airways Belgrade to Dubrovnik route, which will give people from Serbia the chance to fly into Croatia and experience accommodation Dubrovnik style.

It would seem that Croatia has been earmarked as a potentially popular holiday destination this year, with budget airlines easyJet and Jet2.com both set to increase their services to the country throughout 2009.

More flights from UK, the Netherlands and central Europe, among other areas, are expected to be organised.
