Big Game Fishing comes to Croatia

Fishing fans from all over the world are now heading to Murter Island in Croatia for the Big Game Fishing Competition.

It is the 11th inception of the games, which began on September 20th and runs until 26th.

According to the Croatian Times, 60 crews from countries such as the USA, Denmark and Germany are taking part in the games.

Among the fish up for grabs are blue-fin tuna, sharks and swordfish.

The legal limit for the amount of fish allowed to be caught was reduced this year to 1.3 tonnes, after a reported two tonnes were netted last year.

Croatia has many popular angling spots, ranging from those on the Adriatic coast to the fresh water lakes and rivers dotted throughout the country.
