Book accommodation in Croatia for special Casanova festival
16 February 2011Romantic couples who would like to spend their next holiday celebrating their love may wish to book accommodation in Croatia and head to Casanovafest.
The event is a celebration of the life and times of famous seducer Giacomo Casanova, who twice visited the host town of Vrsar.
At the time of his trips in 1743 and 1744 the destination was already famous for its provision of delicious food, wine and beautiful women.
Casanovafest features literature nights, exhibitions and lectures and takes place between June 23rd and 25th.
The Croatian National Tourist Board suggests fish meals served in oil are "excellent" in Vrsar, which is located in Istria.
Love and relationships will be deliberated throughout the three-day festival through the form of films and talks.
Other events to look out for in Croatia over the coming months include the country's popular Boat Show, which is due to take place in the historic city of Split in April.
