Book early for cheap flights to Croatia
07 September 2010Holidaymakers plotting a bargain break may wish to start by booking flights to Croatia a long time before their travel date.
Expert Sophie Butler, responding to letters from readers for the Telegraph, says securing seats on planes early is one of the key steps towards travelling for less.
In particular, budget airlines will advertise journeys for small prices, which they are legally obliged to then provide but only in a limited number, so moving quickly is vital.
"Once you've found your flight, it's time for stage two: avoiding all the extra charges that can bump up the cost," Ms Butler continues.
This means boarding flights to Croatia with hand luggage only if possible, resisting the temptation to add priority boarding to tickets and buying an insurance policy independently.
Among the budget airlines to serve Croatia from the UK are easyJet and Ryanair, which operate routes to airports such as Dubrovnik, Zadar and Split between them.
