Booking a Croatian villa 'provides some with better value for money'

Securing a Croatian villa and flights separately is, in some cases, the cheapest way of visiting the Balkans, if new research is to be believed.

According to sunshine.co.uk, two-fifths of British tourists waste money on all-inclusive breaks - where flights, accommodation and food are supplied.

Some 39 per cent of the 1,154 travellers surveyed feel they do not make the most of the all-inclusive status.

As such, those people may consider that booking a Croatian villa alone may work out to be the most cost-effective way of seeing the country.

Chris Brown, co-founder of the website, suggested people book half-board and self-catering deals, saying: "That way, the consumer gets exactly what they pay for and the holiday is more suited to their expectations, rather than effectively gifting the hotel money for nothing."

Croatian villas are available in all of the country's top holiday hotspots - from the historic cities of Dubrovnik and Split to the Dalmatian coast, which is considered one of the most beautiful in Europe.
