11 February 2010British tourists will flock to Croatia this year, with the number of visitors expected to increase by two per cent on 2009 levels.
While the travel industry was knocked back by the recession, economic fears are beginning to subside and holidays are set to rise on people's list of priorities, according to Guide2Croatia.
The online travel guide reports that United Nations World Tourism Organisation figures state that the number of people taking a Croatian holiday from the UK will rise.
Croatian villas and waterfront properties may be the accommodation of choice for many of those staying in Split, Dubrovnik, Rijeka or any of the Adriatic islands.
Other countries expected to provide an increased number of Croatian holidaymakers include France and Slovenia.
Niko Kranjcar, the Croatia and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, recently said that a Croatian holiday offers something for everyone.
He also labelled Dubrovnik as "the place to go in Croatia" and deserves to be regarded as the country's premier destination.
