Budget airline announces new Dubrovnik route
06 January 2009Budget airliner easyJet has announced that it will be scheduling new routes to the Croatian port of Dubrovnik from this summer.
Following the move, flights will be available from Liverpool's John Lennon Airport to the spectacular Adriatic destination for the first time.
Chief executive of easyJet, Andy Harrison, said the new route will be "popular with sun-seekers, city breakers and business travellers alike.
"We are proud to keep growing in Liverpool
where we will base additional aircraft that will boost the local economy, create much-needed jobs and give even more destinations at our famously low fairs."
The traditional Croatian city has long been a favourite with tourists from all over the world, due to its alluring combination of a Mediterranean climate and fascinating cultural attractions such as museums and art galleries.
Known as 'the Pearl of the Adriatic', Dubrovnik has historically been home to a variety of renowned poets, playwrights and painters over the years, with the city now being an officially designated UNESCO World Heritage Site.
