Budget airline increases Croatia travel routes
04 June 2009Budget carrier easyJet started a new route to Croatia this week, making visiting Dubrovnik accommodation more accessible for people flying from the north-west of England.
Passengers using Liverpool John Lennon Airport (JLA) will now be able to head straight to the southern Croatian city by air.
Flights to Naples in Italy and Bordeaux, France also started from the Merseyside hub this week, bringing the total destinations Liverpool's airport can reach to 21.
Dubrovnik is perhaps the most significant addition, as it is the first time easyJet has flown to Croatia from this particular airport.
Neil Pakey, deputy chief executive of JLA owners Peel Airports, said "easyJet has been crucial to the success of Liverpool Airport over the last 12 years".
"The new easyJet routes will give passengers even more destinations to choose from this summer," he added.
This news comes in the week that Iberia Airlines revealed flights from Madrid to Zagreb will start up next month.
