Carlsberg toasts new plant in Croatia
26 August 2009Beer brewing company Carlsberg has opened a new bottling plant in Koprivnica, Croatia.
Croatian president Stjepan Mesic was present at the inauguration of the plant yesterday (August 25th) and said that he wanted to encourage foreign businesses into the country, according to the Croatian Times.
The new premises will make 60,000 bottles of beer every hour and cost some 23.28 million euros to develop, the newspaper reports.
International businesses investing in areas of Croatia is seen as a way for the country to break out of the current economic problems that are engulfing many nations according to the president.
The country is also enjoying record numbers of foreigners entering the country as touristsas Croatia booms in popularity among travellers.
It was revealed yesterday that Croatia was in the top ten value-for-money holiday destinations for Britons by the International Currency Exchange.
