Celtic 'drops Dujmovic deal'
11 November 2008Celtic have pulled out the deal to sign a Croatian international midifielder, it has been reported.
According to the Glasgow Evening Times, the agent representing Tomislav Dujmovic said the club had previously agreed pre-contract terms with the player over the summer.
However, Pedrag Racki, the representative, revealed Celtic are no longer to sign the footballer, leaving Dujmovic with hopes of signing for Russian sides Zenit St Petersburg or Lokomotiv Moscow.
Mr Racki said he did not know the reason why the Scottish side dropped their interest in the Croatian player.
He told the newspaper: "It is a surprise because Dujmovic is the top midfielder in Russia and he really wanted to go to Celtic because they are one of the top clubs in Europe."
The agent added that he has built up a good relationship with Celtic boss Gordon Strachan and said he will continue to find him "quality players in the future".
Recently, coach Harry Redknapp paid tribute to Croatian footballers, saying the country has produced good players over the years.
