Charms of holidays in Dubrovnik 'are obvious'
18 March 2011A traveller has spoken of the wonderful time he enjoyed on a holiday in Dubrovnik and the "obvious" charms the city offers to visitors.
Andrew West, compiling his travel diaries for the Sydney Morning Herald, explained he decided to travel from London to Athens via road and sea.
This allowed him to spend a period of time in accommodation in Dubrovnik en route, which he described as a "pearl" that is lined with boutiques and market stalls.
Mr West noted the beaches of the city have now become a "compulsory stop" for all those passing the region, such as on cruises and sailing trips.
He suggested the resort is so beautiful the streets shine even at night and the centrepiece is undoubtedly the walled city centre, which is included on Unesco's World Heritage List.
Healthy and delicious food will be available to those who travel to Dubrovnik next week, with the eighth annual Mediterranean Health Food and Medicinal Herbs fair due to get underway.
