Chinese State circus to tour Croatia

Travellers enjoying a Croatian villa holiday over the next few weeks may be able to see some of the world's finest acrobats as the Chinese State Circus brings its world tour to the country.

The acclaimed group, which includes more than 30 performers, will be bringing their latest show, named 'Confucius' to Zagreb on 10th May before moving on to other destinations popular with tourists.

On 13th May, the circus will arrive into Osijek and then move on to Rijeka for the following night before winding up its Croatian tour with a highly-anticipated performance at the Spaladium Arena in Spilt on 17th May.

Speaking to the Croatian Times, the venue's manager Djurdica Mitrovic said: "That which is offered up by the members of the Chinese National Circus is more than just a set of accomplished circus acts.

"It deserves to be seen as a genuine work of art."

Travellers heading to Split on a Croatian villa holiday will often be able to find a performance of the work of Ivo Tijardovic, with the composer, who died in 1076, one of the city's favourite sons.
