Christmas events to take place in Ljubljana
26 November 2008Ljubljana in Slovenia will host many celebratory events this Christmas including parades, a festive market and various activities for adults and children.
Between December 26th and 30th the parade of Father Frost - the Slovenian counterpart to Father Christmas - will take place.
The old city centre, including Cankarjevo nabrezje, Pressernov trg, Hribarjevo nabrezje, Petkovskovo nabrezje and Wolfova ulica will host a festive market.
People can visit the colourfully decorated stands selling traditional products which are good for Christmas and New Year gifts.
There will also be various events for adults and children over the same four days at the Fairytale Spot in the Zvezda Park
On the last day of the year, Ljubljana holds traditional open-air events to celebrate New Year's Eve in the squares Mestini trg, Presernov trg, and Kongresni trg.
Maribor in the country will also host a variety of events this festive season including concerts, displays and activities for visitors to take part in.
