Classical music fans invited to travel to Croatia for prestigious concert

Fans of classical music may wish to ensure their diaries are cleared for this August so they are able to travel to Croatia for a special concert.

Julian Rachlin, a world-famous violinist, is hosting his annual event in Dubrovnik on August 27th, the Croatian National Tourist Board confirms.

The inspiration for the concert came from a performance by Rachlin in the city in 2000 when he appeared as a guest.

Since then, he has invited some of the planet's top musicians to join him in the city, such as cellist Maischea Maisky and pianist Itamar Golan – with the promise of more to come in 2011.

The organisation suggests the event creates an atmosphere that is like no other at any comparable musical meeting.

Those who would love to attend the concert may find it financially beneficial to start making plans now, which could include booking flights with an airline that serves the city, such as easyJet, British Airways and Croatia Airlines.
