Coastline 'is the highlight of Croatia holidays'
25 May 2011As with many popular tourist destinations, much of the excitement and beauty in Croatia can be found on its spectacular coast.
Offering a combination of sunshine, beautiful sand landscapes and large doses of history and culture, it is the place to be in the country.
And that is a view that seems to be shared by Rick Steves, a Tribune Media writer, who noted it is the variation he loves the most.
For example, from the Italian-style stretch in Istria to the pebbles of some of the islands, Croatia has it all.
He suggested one of his favourite aspects of Croatian life is sitting in a seaside cafe or bar that has been sculpted from land just metres from the waters of the Adriatic.
Mr Steves went on to suggest that the thousands of miles of coastline on offer in the country is "eastern Europe's Riviera".
Guide2Croatia.com recently advised people heading to the country to check out its numerous impressive castles.
