Competition winners may require Croatian holiday to enjoy their work
25 November 2009Bosses at one of Croatia's most spectacular tourist hotspots have launched an international competition to find photography worthy of making the cut at its forthcoming exhibition.
Plitvice Lakes National Park is inviting people from across the globe to send in pictures of natural beauty which could be displayed at the park from next April.
Amateurs and professionals alike are welcome to enter, with the only rule being that competitors can enter a maximum of four images.
The national park, located close to the Adriatic coast, is the most popular tourist attraction in Croatia.
Plitvice Lakes is a World Natural Heritage Site - having been granted such status in 1979 - meaning it receives extra work and funds to maintain its stunning natural beauty.
It features 16 mountainside lakes which are each connected by waterfalls.
A stay in a Croatian villa could be appealing for thousands of wildlife lovers, as Plitvice Lakes is populated by deer, bears, wolves, boars and rare bird species.
