Couples may decide to minimoon in Croatia
25 August 2009During the current economic downturn couples are finding it more difficult to afford their dream honeymoon.
That is why Francesca Moore, a spokeswoman for hitched.co.uk, has suggested that newlyweds may wish to indulge in a "minimoon", a shorter break in lieu of a longer break later on.
She said: "If newlywed couples decide not to go on a honeymoon right away it might be an idea to take a 'minimoon' or a short break close to home.
"They can then save for a bigger honeymoon later on in the year or maybe to celebrate their first wedding anniversary."
According to a press release from Hotels.com, 77 per cent of newlyweds plan to spend less than two weeks on their honeymoon.
For Britons, and many other European countries, affordable and beautiful areas in Croatia may offer the perfect option for either a short break or a more extravagant and romantic stay in a villa.
