Couples urged to spend Valentine's in Dubrovnik
09 February 2011People are being encouraged to go on a Dubrovnik holiday in time for Valentine's Day, as even in the middle of February the region has a "pleasant climate".
Italian newspaper Corriere della Serra described the city as the "new Saint Tropez", recommending it as a perfect romantic destination for any couple to enjoy this year, the Croatian Times reports.
Noting that it is both lively and modern, the news source went on to say that those who like to take the air and experience places by foot will find there are two city walls, constructed between the 13th and 16th centuries, that offer a relaxing walk, particularly because they are not overcrowded with tourists.
"Winter at sea brings you historical charm and off-season tranquillity," the publication further continued.
The Croatian National Tourist Board seems to be of the same opinion, recently stating that the ancient metropolis is ideal as a potential venue for anyone planning to propose to their other halves.
