Croatia boasts "sparkling jewels"
07 July 2008Croatia is among the "brightest stars in the Mediterranean firmament", it has been claimed.
The Birmingham Mail suggests that the country has one of the continents "most stunning coasts" that offers plenty of attractions for visitors.
It added that Croatia has "sparkling jewels", such as the province of Istria, whose coastal towns make for a "perfect holiday choice".
"South from Istria, all the way to the southernmost province of Dalmatia, the coast is dotted with wondrous settlements which would take a lifetime to explore, although a week's tour will effect a mouthwatering introduction," the newspaper said.
Croatia's tourism minister Dair Bajs recently told HRT television the country is expecting an influx of tourists this year.
The politician predicted that more than 11 million people will travel to Croatia in 2006, helping to increase the revenue from tourism by more than seven billion euros (£5.5 billion) this year, BalkanTravellers.com reports.
