Croatia gives to Chinese and Myanmar victims
29 May 2008Croatia has donated to the aid needed in China and Myanmar, with the country's Red Cross sending packages.
The country has become one of many to help the disaster victims of the two recent tragedies, with the three organisations joining together to donate tents to the countries, reports Javno.com.
A collaboration between the International Federation of the Red Cross and the Red Crescent, the German Red Cross and the Croatian Red Cross has seen 750 family-sized tents being sent to the countries to house people whose homes were destroyed.
The website reports the tents are "much needed".
Aiding Croatia in their donation, the German Red Cross gave 56,000 euros towards the transport and operative costs in delivering the aid packages, which are expected to arrive tomorrow.
It is not the first donation from the country, which also contributed 200,000 euros to the Chinese cause two weeks ago, reports Chinaview.cn.
The news provider also reported that the Croatian Red Cross is raising money to contribute to the disaster in the country, which is thought to have left 100,000 people injured.
