Croatia holiday spot recommended
09 June 2009Sveti Klement has been acknowledged as one of the 20 best little-known hideaways in Europe.
The Observer judged the island to be somewhere people should aim to discover in the coming months.
People travelling from other European countries would need to fly to Split before heading to Hvar by boat, en route to making their way to the recommended Croatia holiday destination.
"The largest of the Pakleni Islands, which lie a short boat-taxi ride from the island of Hvar, Sveti Klement boasts sandy coves and pine-backed beaches and the picturesque hamlet of Palmizana," said the newspaper.
Islands closer to the mainland include Brac, Bol and Vis, which all offer holidaymakers a plethora of restaurants, bars and beautiful scenery.
Ferries between Split and these islands run regularly each day and the service has recently been increased ahead of the popular summer season.
