Croatia holidays could soon be more popular with Americans
14 February 2011Holidays in Croatia – and specifically the ancient resort of Dubrovnik – could become increasingly popular with American tourists after a delegation was sent to the US to promote the city.
According to a report by Vjesnik cited by the Croatian Times, bosses from Dubrovnik's tourism body travelled to Monterey recently.
While there, they presented information about Dubrovnik and its beauty, history and traditions to a US audience, including details of their plans for the destination's future.
Dubrovnik and Monterey have enjoyed a partnership since 2005 that sees them work together on a number of issues.
It is thought the Croatian city can benefit from its American counterpart by taking tips on how to attract visitors for the entire year.
Italian newspaper Corriere della Serra recently named Dubrovnik as the perfect place for loving couples to spend Valentine's Day, describing it as a romantic hotspot and "the new St Tropez".
