Croatia 'ideal for a sailing holiday'
29 June 2011Croatia's Dalmatian coast is often seen by holidaymakers as the ideal spot for water sports, whether it be canoeing, surfing or rafting.
More than 1,000 islands are located just off the mainland, with spots such as Hvar, Brac and Korcula among the largest and most popular.
Ferry services between the islands and ports including Dubrovnik and Split make travel to and from the various points easy and quick for tourists looking to make the most of their time in the country.
Hello magazine has recommended people try out one particular water-based activity while in the region – sailing.
The publication noted there is a "stunning setting" for taking to the water in a boat, with the transport best used to visit various rocky coves and isolated beaches before returning a vessel to the harbour.
It went on to suggest that sailing breaks are no longer exclusive to the rich and famous, as there are trips designed for those on all budgets.
