Croatia 'is one of Britons' favourite summer holiday destinations'

Holidays in Croatia have been named as one of the favourite options among British travellers during the summer season.

Skyscanner, compiling a list of its top destinations for sunshine breaks, named the country in its top ten, up on last year when it finished 11th.

Croatia managed to displace Thailand in the coveted top ten spots, while it was just behind established nations such as Spain, Italy and Greece.

It has been a good time for Balkans holidays in general too, with Kosovo, Serbia and Macedonia all recording rises in position.

Tourists may be finding that holidays in Croatia are the perfect option, with guaranteed sunshine in the summer, great affordability and fascinating history.

The flights comparison website noted that it is attracting vacationers who are searching for something a little bit different.
