Croatia 'is perfect for weddings and honeymoons'

One couple chose to have their dream wedding on a private beach in Croatia and followed it up with an idyllic honeymoon in the country.

Suzanne Sarkis and Luke Croxford wanted an intimate and relaxed ceremony with two of their oldest friends as witnesses, reports the Sydney Morning Herald.

They selected a remote spot on the beautiful coast of Hvar, an Adriatic island located just a few miles from Croatia's Dalmatian coast.

"Having no one else around meant that we could just focus on us and the enormity of what we were doing," the bride tells the publication.

Croatia's peace and tranquility, as well as its scenery and natural, unspoilt look, made it the obvious choice for their honeymoon too.

With a short trip across the Adriatic to Italy thrown in for good measure, the couple enjoyed a romantic break in the historic country.

Among the activities available in the nation that are recommended by the Croatian National Tourist Board are horse riding, walking and flying, which could prove to be just right for newlyweds.
