Croatia 'is ultimate destination for sailing holidays'
15 February 2011Sailing holidays in Croatia have been hailed as among the best on the planet by one expert, who suggests the country is ideal for nautical activities.
Gael Pawson, editor of Yachts and Yachting Magazine, explains the glorious sea off Croatia's Dalmatian coast is a natural cruising ground.
As such, the nation has a worldwide reputation for hosting fabulous breaks for users of bareboats and flotillas.
"The Adriatic Sea is famed for its clear waters and steady breezes, and with over 1,000 islands, a plethora of safe anchorages and a wide variety of ports and historic towns to explore," states Ms Pawson.
Accommodation in cities such as Split and Dubrovnik, which boast their own harbours, may be a shrewd investment by sailors heading to Croatia.
It may be worth timing a trip to coincide with the Croatia Boat Show, which is due to take place between April 12th and 17th.
