Croatia may offer one of Europe's most affordable holidays
29 March 2010Many non-euro countries - such as Croatia - offer good value for money, a currency expert has said.
However, rather than deciding where to go on holiday based on whether a nation uses dollars, kunas or the euro, travellers should research what they will get for their cash, HiFX director Mark Bodega advised.
This means taking a look at how expensive basic items - including food, drink and transport - are.
If Mari Matesic, director at the Croatian National Tourist Office, is to be believed, this could mean a Croatia holiday is one of the most affordable options.
Last week, she suggested that the country is "increasingly popular" with British tourists because of the favourable exchange rate.
This makes items such as food especially affordable to those heading to the Adriatic coast for their summer break.
In addition to good value, Ms Matesic also cited stunning natural and cultural beauty as reasons for Croatia's positive reputation among tourists.
