Croatia 'offers five-star luxury at three-star prices'
27 January 2010A hotel in Dubrovnik has been cited as an example of the bargain rates on offer for accommodation in Croatia.
Hotel Excelsior is a five-star establishment offering rooms for under £50 a night - which could illustrate to many people currently considering a Croatian holiday that value for money can be found in the country.
The average rate for a top-quality room in Europe is £165, according to the report by Trivago - but can be far less in places such as Croatia.
Luxury Croatian villas could be another type of accommodation available for bargain prices.
Guests staying in Dubrovnik are likely to have a panoramic view of the Adriatic Sea - similar to the one that Trivago claims can be enjoyed at Hotel Excelsior.
Fans of British pop group The Police - led by music icon Sting - may wish to coincide travelling to Dubrovnik with a concert the band are due to play in the city in late May or early June.
