Croatia to benefit from late British holiday surge?

New data has suggested that nearly five million British tourists may still be due to book a foreign holiday this year.

According to a survey published by E Money Home Lending on behalf of Moneybasics.co.uk, 1.8 million Britons have booked a last minute deal, but the director of Credit Action has warned about a rush booking.

He said: "By rushing to book a holiday some of us will end up overpaying for basics like insurance and car hire - in some cases up to 140 per cent more."

Many of the holidaymakers who are thinking of booking a late break may consider the increasingly popular Croatia.

Areas such as Dubrovnik have become very fashionable in the travel world this year with a host of celebrities such as RnB superstar Beyonce and husband Jay Z heading to the beautiful Adriatic coast.

The historic Old City of Dubrovnik sits on the Dalmatian coast and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
