Croatia to dazzle tourists with cultural events

A number of upcoming cultural events in Rovinj, Croatia are set to charm tourists from all over the world over the next month.

The first of which being the Night of St Lawrence, which takes place tomorrow (August 12th) in the town and features a magnificent natural display with comets set to light up the night sky.

The panorama will be "criss-crossed with falling stars" and public lighting in the area will be turned off so the celestial event can be seen to its full potential.

Rovinj, on the Adriatic coast, is also home to the Romance Down the Lungomare on August 14th, which is a day of gastronomic offerings available on the promenade, all of which are said to have aphrodisiac effects.

Finally, on August 18th, along the beautiful coastline is a lantern-lit procession of Batana which features a performance by the folk group Batana which goes by the same name, with local food also being served.

Croatia is home to some 47 inhabited islands.
