Croatia to host conference sector summer school

Croatia is to host a summer school which targets members of all sectors of the conference marketplace.

Professionals from convention bureaus, congress and conventional centres, hotels and tourist offices are all being encouraged to attend the European Cities Marketing (ECM), which is being held in the city of Opatija.

Course leader Elisabeth Hansa said: "The aim of ECM Summer School is to offer the widest possible range of knowledge and skills. That is the reason why the first two days consist of seminars and the last day is dedicated to workshops."

The city of Opatija is considered to be one of the leading tourist destinations for people to organise conventions.

It is a popular holiday destination both in the summer and winter and is located in the north-west part of the country.

According to the tourism website of the city, Opatija boasts nature parks, a seaside promenade and beaches for tourists, as well as Croatian villas.
