The Balkan nation has joined forces with its neighbours Bosnia and Serbia to promote the River Sava and its surrounding areas as somewhere to visit, states the Vancouver Sun, noting a report by Agence France-Presse.
At some 944 km in length, the river, which runs through all three nations, offers a diverse range of settings in which to enjoy a break.
"We want to open this area not only for tourism but for investments into various economic activities," Zlatan Frohlic, head of the Zagreb economic chamber, is reported as saying.
People who would like to explore the river and the nearby countryside may wish to book a Croatian villa to act as a base for their trip.
