Croatia travel hideaway revealed
08 June 2009A Croatia travel destination has been described as one of "Europe's last hideaways" by a national newspaper.
The Observer included the island of Lopud in its list of 20 little-known places to visit this summer.
It could be somewhere for people staying in Dubrovnik accommodation to visit as the island can be reached via ferry in 50 to 60 minutes from the southern Croatian city.
Indeed, the publication said that Lopud is "rather easy to get to" despite it being so "idyllic".
"Only two miles wide, with no cars, the Dubrovnik elite have used it as a hideaway for decades," it added, before describing the island as one of sandy beaches, "especially Sunj with its gently shelving white sand".
Earlier this month, the Black Sea Association of National News Agencies reported the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Physical Planning and Construction's latest sea quality test results.
The coastline along the Adriatic coast was described as being of excellent quality.
