Croatia win against Finland in handball game
30 October 2008The Croatian handball team beat their guests Finland 39-20 in a game at the Dom Sportova building in Zagreb, it has been reported.
Eight thousand people went to watch the match in which Finland took the lead after scoring the first point before the two teams drew level at 4:4, javno.com says.
Croatia then took the lead making the score 7-4 and at half time the home team had twice as many points as the guests with a score of 20-10.
The second half saw Finland double their points to 20, but Croatia ended the game victorious after scoring another 19 points to win 39-20.
Duvnjak got nine goals for Croatia making him the highest scoring player, while Manuel Strlek and Buntic were both commended, the source says.
The country's next game is against Hungary who they expect will be harder to beat.
In recent news, Croatia lost a friendly handball match against Poland 31-24, according to javno.com.
