Croatian adventure holidays may be best break of 2010
22 January 2010This year will see the rise of the adventure break, according to a travel expert - which may further boost Croatia's reputation as one of Europe's top holiday hotspots.
While 2009 may have been the year of the staycation, 2010 will see a rise in action adventures - with many of the most popular activities available in Dubrovnik, Split, Zagreb or the Croatian countryside.
People are aiming to cram more and more into their two-week hiatus - with events such as scuba diving, snorkelling and bungee jumping likely to prove popular.
"A fortnight is plenty of time to travel to any country, see the best of that destination and enjoy an adventure trip," states John Warner, managing director of Gap Adventures.
Croatia's diverse landscape - ranging from sandy beaches to historic cities and unspoilt countryside - may make it ideal for any activity.
STA Travel last week suggested that two-week breaks will be the most popular trips in 2010.
