Croatian chef offers Aussies taste of cuisine

Dennis Valcich is to offer Australians the chance to sample Croatian cuisine as part of a food festival to be held in Perth in the south-west of the country.

The chef, who has appeared as a guest on cooking programmes in both countries, will present a variety of traditional dishes at the 13th Annual Croatian Food Festival at the Esplanade Hotel Fremantle's Atrium garden restaurant between June 13th and 22nd.

Served in a buffet, the meals will be complemented by live entertainment.

Photographs of Croatian landscapes will also be on display and gift packs of Croatian goods on offer as prizes to diners.

Mr Valcich currently runs the Konoba restaurant in Sydney having immigrated to Australia from Dubrovnik in 1966.

In addition to his television and festival appearances, Mr Valcich has also released two Croatian cookbooks in English, selling them worldwide.

He has also released a range of cooking sauces under the name "Chef at Home".
