Croatian film festival draws closer

The Libertas Film Festival is sure to attract some of the biggest names in the movie world later this month.

People on a holiday in Dubrovnik may spot a celebrity between June 26th and June 30th - the five-day period when the event runs its course.

According to the Croatian Times, Irish film director Jim Sheridan is due to receive a special Tribute Award for his lifetime achievement as a filmmaker.

Those who attend the festival will be able to watch his movie In America during the awards ceremony.

CultureNet.hr has stated that the Libertas Film Festival in Dubrovnik has attracted people such as Chris Cooper, Woody Harrelson, Owen Wilson and David Dinerstein in the past.

Tourists staying in Dubrovnik while the cinema event is running may also want to investigate the city's old town, which offers various forms of entertainment and a plethora of restaurants.

Alternatively, they could spend their days unwinding by the beautiful beaches in the region.
