Croatian holiday could be perfect for adventure seekers
19 January 2010People seeking an adventure holiday could consider Croatia as a destination - and take the advice of one travel expert who suggests that the challenges encountered on such a trip can be tailored to suit anyone.
A trek across Croatia's mountainous inland region or exploration of the Adriatic Sea could both appeal to thrill-seekers.
Simon Calder, senior travel editor at the Independent, says that people are still in good shape financially to go on holiday and nominates Croatia's Balkan neighbour Albania as a part of the world which is cheap and enjoyable to visit.
Discussing the itinerary of the upcoming Adventure Travel Live show, he states: "Tony Wheeler will be [giving] his account of being a tourist in places like Albania. Albania, like other places in the Balkans, is very good value at the moment."
Mr Calder reveals that his favourite adventure holiday would be based around walking across a picturesque landscape - something that some consider to be in plentiful supply in Croatia.
Non-eurozone countries - such as Croatia - have been cited by a number of experts recently as the in-demand destinations for 2010 as they can offer greater value for money.
