Croatian holiday in Split 'offers generous amount of culture and history'
10 February 2010Split has been highlighted as a destination which culture vultures should add to their list of places to visit.
According to the Croatian National Tourism Board, "both culture and history were generous" to the Dalmatian city.
Split is described by the board as "the true heart of Dalmatia" where "precious cultural moments" are to be found in constant supply.
Another advantage of taking a Croatian holiday in Split is that when the time comes to take a break from the city's cobbled streets and numerous sights, the majority of Croatia's main islands are close enough to be visited on a day trip.
Brac, Solta, Ciovo, Hvar and Vis are just some of the islands offering immaculate beaches and reliable sunshine to those staying in a Croatian villa.
Split is the second largest city in Croatia - behind Zagreb - with a population of approximately 200,000 and was originally built around the Diocletian Palace.
Croatian Villas offering villas, apartments and waterside properties in Central Dalmatia and the islands.
