11 February 2010Croatian villas and waterfront properties are among those available to couples searching for a dream romantic break.
The "magical" beaches and old towns of cities such as Dubrovnik and Split provide the ultimate destination for people in love, according to Guide2Croatia.
Walking through ancient streets and paddling in the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic Sea are likely to be popular activities with couples young and old.
People in Split may also wish to take a romantic ride on the water taxi which offers transport around the city's waterways.
The online travel guide also recommends the history of Zagreb as worthy a visit, stating: "Zagreb offers various attractions such as parks, museums, hotels and shopping malls. [It] is one of the best cities in Croatia to spend one's time without sea and sand."
Dubrovnik was recently voted the second-most romantic holiday destination in Europe by the Guardian, which urged people on a Croatian holiday to explore the city's "nooks and crannies".
