Croatian holiday may be of interest to travel-hungry Britons
10 February 2010More than half of Britons intend to take a holiday in 2010 - which may mean many are considering travelling to Croatia.
According to First Rate, 58 per cent say they will take a break during the year, with the most likely tourists being Londoners, where 68 per cent plan to travel.
In particular, non-eurozone destinations - such as Croatia - will be popular, as people seek value for money from their beach break of city tour.
Lucy Huxley, editor of Travel Weekly, said: "Customers who may have skipped their annual holiday last year to save money appear to be keen to make sure their main break is ring-fenced in 2010."
With so many people set to sample foreign lands, Croatia could be near the top of many people's dream list of destinations, thanks to its diverse mix of sun-soaked coastline, cultural cities and rural retreats.
The most likely age group to travel is 18 to 24-year-olds, with 64 per cent set to take a holiday, the First Rate survey suggested.
