Croatian player 'may start in football match'
06 November 2008A Croatian footballer who plays for Premier League club Portsmouth may be in the starting team for the next game.
Niko Kranjcar, a midfield player, wants to be in manager Tony Adams's first team when the club plays against Sunderland.
In the last match against Wigan, Kranjcar came off the bench to replace Armand Traore and scored a goal in the 82nd minute.
The 24-year-old Croatian international has not started a match for Portsmouth since the first game of the season against Chelsea because of an ankle injury.
Manager Tony Adams is considering moving Kranjcar from the left to the right in the hope he can help the team score more goals.
In recent news, a Premier League football coach has paid tribute to Croatian players ahead of his team's Union of European Football Associations cup match.
